This year’s annual spring exhibition held in April was a great success with 20% of the paintings on display being sold. There was a good turn-out of visitors over the weekend.

On the Friday evening prior to the exhibition the paintings on display were judged in four categories and the winners were:

Landscape / Seascape category, sponsored by Rosemary and Co brushes, judged by Andy Shore, Winner: Malcolm Clayson.

Portrait / Figures category, sponsored by ProArte brushes, judged by David Wright, Winner: Mick Grewcock.

Still life / Flowers category, sponsored by The Artist Magazine, judged by Peter Gadsby,Winner: David Freer.

Abstract / Experimental category, sponsored by the S.A.A., judged by Diane Sinclair, Winner: Graham Luker.

The overall winner agreed by the judges, and winner of the Art Club Best in Show trophy, was Malcolm Clayson with his watercolour “Wells Harbour”

The favourite painting in the exhibition as voted for by the visiting public over the two days, and winner of The Art club trophy, was Derek Everitt with his watercolour “Solitary”.

We would like to thank: the sponsors for their generosity, the judges for their time and expertise and all who made this annual event a great success.
